So... I started late because I was out doing a photo shoot of the new Meriden and Wallingford Train Stations and also the new CT-Rail Trains. The service kicked off this weekend but they were doing non-revenue runs to either show the trains off or train the crew. They would stop at each station for a minute or so then continue on. Sunday I went to a computer show at the 4 Points Sheraton looking for a new archive drive but they did not have any, my only purchase was a mouse pad. Did have a nice buffet breakfast in the restaurant though.

So as you can see most of the action was on FT8. There was probably more action on SSB and CW but I was seeing stations on FT8 out to CA. I did not work any.

The results were disappointing compared to the activity. Many station who called were not running the FT8 in Contest mode. So they could not complete the QSO. I'm wondering how many THINK they got a QSO with me and logged only to find out when the results come out they will be a NIL in my log? Everyone either was not on the same track Rolleyes or just did not care to put the correct version up or turn on the contest mode and was out to make QSOs, the only thing they did was muck up the band.

WSJT-X and N1MM are supposed to talk to each other but I could not get them to talk. So I went straight to WSJT-X and used that. When I was ready to go to SSB I moved the ADI file out and imported it into N1MM, that seemed to work good. The only disadvantage with this is you don't have the duping that you have in N1MM. I did not think this would be a problem since I spent the most time calling CQ, but I found that quite a few people duped me. So I may have to try and figure how to get the two programs talking to each other. The biggest problem was they both want to control the radio and if you have WSJT-X running and start N1MM you loose the radio in WSJT-X and it wants you to either reconfigure the radio or if you say cancel the program closes.

Wonder this all will be a problem in the July VHF contest though I suspect that FT8 won't be a big factor.

If you played contest this weekend please report your score here and use Meriden ARC as your club.
