Well I had not really planned anything for this contest but there was little going on, on county hunters Saturday so I decided to take a stab at it. I found out early that I can not run FSK on 40 meters. If I go over 10 watts I get a fixed mark tone. Eventually the digital locks up and I have to reboot.
I put in a new tuner about a month ago and it does have some RF problem on 40 meters and on 20 meters if I'm in a live antenna position. I am able to use fldigi to run AFSK for county hunting, because I am modulating the radio like SSB, FSK keying does not work.
As far as the contest I decided to work only multipliers. That is why I have a equal number of WPX multis that I have QSOs. I've done this before and it's the best way to maximize your score for the contacts you make.
15 meters was "lite" all weekend. 20 was much better. There were even some JAs and I was able grab at least two.
Hope everyone got some time in. If you worked the contest please submit your log for Meriden ARC to see what kind of showing we can have.
