Long Duration M CLass Flare - N1API - 05-07-2014

A long duration M Class Flare has the 20 Meter band pretty quiet. But it does seem to have perked up 17 though 10 meters, and I see some 6 meters spots being posted by the Europeans.

The flare started at 1607 UTC Today at C 2.1, (Wednesday) and peaked at M 1.2 at 1629 UTC. At 1800 UTC is it at C 2.1. The D Layer Absorption Map shows a slight degradation of signals from about 22 mHz down to 3 mHz where the attenuation is about 9 dB.

Al, thanks for the update. These kinds of things might also fit in nicely in the interference, RFI, etc section. I know its not manmade, but still interferesSmile

I'm continually amazed at the energy contained in the sun.
