Here is the Header From the ARRL RTTY Roundup. I have to go over the log because the FT8 Logging did not report correctly to N1MM. After editing my Cabrillo Log the ARRL Robot says 245 QSO but the N1MM log says 309. FT8 did not report the state and QSO number correctly and double logged most contacts. I had to edit the Cabrillo Log in order to submit it to the robot. Now I have to go over the N1MM Log and manual remove the dupes and check the entry for correct reports.

Update: Below is the corrected header and report.

So because N1MM and WSJT-X run together you have to minimize N1MM because it wants to control the screen. Also you have to quit N1MM before stating WSJT because N1MM also will control the radio and digital line so WSJT will not work. You start N1MM, it will complain but you just say cancel and ignore it. There are still "reporting issues". WSJT-X double reports to N1MM one with the correct exchange, (sometimes not) and again with no State or QSO number for DX. The problem could be my use of JTAlertX which also may be making the second report. It's a good starting effort but there is work to do especially because there is no dupe checking when using WSJT-X.

So how were the bands? 20 meters was hot. 15 not so good, 10 just one local a VO and a FL station. I did have some good RTTY runs on 20. There was a 15 minute "learning curve" with the new radio. I was able to figure out the nuances of the FT-DX5000 quickly. It is much tighter on the receive than the FT-DX1000. While I was running on 20 meters there was a 3 spotted less thank a half a KC away and I never heard him or anyone trying to work him. I deleted the spot on the bandmap it came back a few times so he must have been there. I'm liking this radio the more I use it! 40 meters was great for FT8. I have RFI problems using FSK on 40 so FT8 was a savior there.

I did not contest the whole time. I went to a Cogan's Computer show this morning. I was working 20 meters before I left on FT8 and the contacts were coming at a rate of 80 to 100 an hour. Europe was rocking.

It will be interesting to see how the FT8 Engine develops for Digital Contesting. Next test for it is the ARRL VHF contest in a couple weeks.

If you played this weekend and are registered as a MARC Contester please upload your log within 7 days and use MERIDEN ARC as your club of choice.
