What rig do you have or what rig do you intend having?
I love those digimodes too. We have FLDigi, MMTTY, and WSJT-X interfaced at The Club. I use SignaLink USB interfaced with my Kenwood TS-450SAT at home. The software is FLDigi and WSJT-X which allows almost all digital modes including JT-65, JT-9 and FT-8.
Hi, Rob,
Nice to hear from you. The way my station is being set up is going to be my Ten Tec Argonaut with transverters that will give me coverage on all bands from 160 to 70cm. Normally I would be running QRP or 5 watts. But I have 100 watt amps for all bands.
I used to have a "Signal Link" myself but sold it a long while ago.
I'm hoping that some of the digital modes will enable me to once again get active on the bands. My hearing was bad enough for many years but was always able dig out the signals in CW just fine. The audio modes like SSB are really tough for me to copy. I think some of the Digital modes are going to make me happy again. I still have a 2m AX25 Packet station that will be on the air using APRS. That will be my "on the air" ham radio mail box. Just in case the Internet implodes or something
For my Digital interface I am thinking of getting one that MFJ just came out with. It 's a 99 dollar plug and play USB interface that supposedly will give me any and all digital modes. Has built in sound card and it's own front panel audio adjustments for received and transmitted signals.
I'm hoping one of the major vendors at the Nutfest will have one. Otherwise I'll order it from MFJ. check it out ...
