Medium Frequency DXing - W1CTN - 12-22-2014
To all...
Just wanting to see how far I could hear on MF I went to the Non Directional Beacon allocation on the medium frequency band and did some band scanning.
The furthest station was DDP Luis Munoz Marin International Airport's 391 kHz beacon that is rated for a range of 75 nautical miles.
I thought that was a pretty good haul on that frequency.
I was using my 160 L for reception. It's not the best antenna for that range. I am putting up a W1AEX loop to see what else I can hear.
I'm doing this in prep for the 600 meter allocation we are scheduled to get.
